You Can't Buy Joy

But you can accept an invitation from joy to go on this trip with her and rekindle your relationship.

Joy & Me

At 50, I feel the most alive and whole, ever.

I am a recovering perfectionist, control freak, and people pleaser. All roles that don’t lend themselves to a particularly joy-filled life.

In fact – 12 years ago I felt like I had lost all joy, despite some pretty courageous moves.

When I wasn’t feeling sorry for myself, I felt angry with other people. I was a real bundle of joy.

A LOT has changed since then, very little of it on the outside.

Joy & You

I can’t make joy for you. But I can give you the tools that worked for me.

I don’t know what brings you joy. But I do know how to find out.

I can’t choose joy for you. But I can tell you that once you choose joy, your life will be different.

We are all in charge of our own happiness, which – like any authority we decide to claim – comes with responsibility.

Joy-making isn’t always easy and fun. Like learning and practicing any new skill, joy-making might make you feel uncomfortable sometimes. If it were easy, you'd already have a shit-ton of joy.

Build Your Joy Toolkit

I share what works for me so that you can build your own joy-making toolkit.

  • (Re-)discover what brings you joy

  • Create joyful habits

  • Make your joy more important than other people’s opinions

  • Find joy even (and especially) in difficult times

  • Spread joy confetti all over the place

Three Modules

  • Exploring Joy

First, we lay the foundations. You determine what joy means to you, explore your relationship with joy, and uncover your joy sources and blockers.

  • Making Joy

The middle part is all about prioritizing joy and starting habits to sprinkle joy into your days. You’ll find joy in unexpected places and make joy where there was drudgery.

  • Spreading Joy

Now that you know how to consistently make joy, we focus on sharing it – the most reliable way to have more. Hint: It only works when you enjoy doing it.

Is it for you?

If your life looks great from the outside, but you have lost your internal spark, this course is for you.

❤️ If you forgot the answer to the question: ‘What do you love to do?’ this course will help you remember.

⌛️ If you wonder how to make time for joy between work, family, and everything else, I will share how I sneak it into my life.

🌶 If you have achieved all the goals but your life tastes stale, let’s bring some spice.

How it Works

Joy Making covers three modules with videos, written content, and downloadable workbooks.

While you go through the course on your own time and at your own pace, there are discussions on the site and a (completely optional) Facebook Group. Bring your dilemmas, questions, joy-blockers, breakthroughs, successes and celebrations to the Joy Making Community (the Flamingo Flamboyance, as we have started calling us).

Accept Joy's Invitation

Or you might never know how good of a party she can throw.

Q & A

  • What if I do not have time right now?

You will have unlimited access to the course until at least the end of 2023. So you can start and finish in your own time.

Let me ask you this, though: If you don't have time for joy now, wouldn't this be perfect timing?

  • How much time will it take each day?

First of all, it's impossible to fall behind in Joyland. You can do this in your own way and pace and won't miss anything. Generally, I would say between 10 minutes and one hour per day. There are some small daily rituals and you will certainly get the most out of the course if you integrate them into your schedule.

  • Will I be able to ask questions and get feedback?

Yes. We will have discussions about each lesson on the course website, there is an (optional) private Facebook Group and I am available via email.

  • Will this course help with my depression?

I am not a psychiatrist and this course is not a replacement for professional treatment. If you have been diagnosed with depression and are already receiving professional help, the course can be a fun addition.
